01 · The problem
What problem does it solve?
A 40-room hotel in Varanasi takes bookings from walk-ins, phone calls and three booking sites. The front desk keeps a register, housekeeping a separate list, and the restaurant writes charges on slips that reach the desk at check-out — sometimes.
Twice last month a room sold online was already occupied, and guests waited at check-out while charges were added up by hand.
Overbookings
Rooms sold twice across channels.
Missed charges
Restaurant and laundry slips never billed.
Slow check-out
Bills added up while guests wait.
Dirty rooms sold
Housekeeping status not known at the desk.
