01 · The problem
What problem does it solve?
A wholesale business runs a B2B ordering website and two shop counters, but the accountant lives in Tally. Every evening, someone retypes the day’s invoices and receipts into Tally — 40 to 60 vouchers.
Stock in Tally is always a day behind, so the website sells items that are out of stock. Outstanding balances are emailed to salesmen as a Tally export once a week.
Retyping
Hours every evening entering vouchers.
Typos
A wrong amount or ledger means a mismatch at month end.
Stale stock
The website and Tally disagree on what’s in the godown.
Late outstanding
Salesmen collect against last week’s balances.
