01 · The problem
What problem does it solve?
A manufacturing plant receives 40 visitors a day: vendors, auditors, interview candidates and delivery drivers. They sign a register at the gate; the guard calls the host on an extension, often more than once.
When an auditor asked who had visited the plant floor last month, nobody could read the register. During a fire drill, security had no idea which visitors were still inside.
Waiting at the gate
Visitors held while hosts are found.
Unreadable records
A paper register nobody can search.
Safety gaps
No list of visitors in an emergency.
Uncontrolled access
Visitors wandering into restricted areas.
