A geo-fencing attendance app lets employees check in on their phones only when they are inside a defined area around their site, store or office. Adding a live selfie matched to the employee’s face stops proxy attendance. Late marks, shifts and exceptions are worked out automatically and sent to payroll.

What problem does it solve?

A facility services company has 150 staff across 12 client sites — housekeeping, security and maintenance. Attendance is a register at each site, collected weekly and typed into payroll.

Supervisors sign in for absent friends, clients dispute the bills because the head count can’t be proved, and payroll takes three days of corrections every month.

What is a geo-fencing attendance app?

A geo-fencing attendance app lets employees check in on their phones only when they are inside a defined area around their site, store or office. Adding a live selfie matched to the employee’s face stops proxy attendance. Late marks, shifts and exceptions are worked out automatically and sent to payroll.

Can someone fake their location?

The app detects mock-location tools and rooted phones, and a live face match is still required, so faking location alone does not work.

What about staff without smartphones?

A shared tablet at the site can run in kiosk mode, where each person checks in with a face match.

Is face data stored safely?

Faces are stored as encrypted templates, not photos where possible, with consent recorded under the DPDP Act and access limited to HR.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Check-ins are recorded with the time and location on the phone and sync when the network returns.

Can it replace our biometric machines?

For sites and field staff, usually yes. In large factories, many clients keep biometrics at the gate and use the app for everyone else.
