Every carton has an address.

Incoming stock goes to a suggested bin, pick lists follow one loop through the aisles, and every pick is checked by a scan — so the right box leaves, first time.

The problem

“Pickers walk the whole warehouse to find one carton.”
The problem this demo is built to solveLive demo · sample data

What is a warehouse management system (WMS)?

A warehouse management system (WMS) gives every carton an address. It tells staff which bin to put stock in, builds pick lists that walk the shortest route, checks every pick with a barcode scan and schedules small daily cycle counts, so stock stays right without closing for a full count.

Built around your workflow: this demo is a starting point — screens, fields, rules and integrations are made to fit your business.

Walking a 12-order pick

Before: 12 trips through the aislesWith the system: 1 sorted loop

How the system works · how we measured

In the demo, 12 orders are grouped into one wave and sorted by aisle and bin, so the route is a single loop with 6 stops.

01 · The problem

What problem does it solve?

A distributor’s warehouse stores stock wherever there is space. Only two senior pickers know where things are; new staff walk every aisle looking for a single SKU.

Orders are picked one at a time, look-alike items go out in the wrong box and come back as returns, and once a year the warehouse closes for two days to count everything — and still finds differences.

  • Walking, not picking

Pickers spend much of a shift searching.

  • Wrong items shipped

Look-alike SKUs leave in the wrong box.

  • Knowledge in two heads

When a senior picker is off, dispatch slows.

  • Closed for counting

Full stock counts stop dispatch for days.

02 · The solution

How does Warehouse Management System fix it?

  1. 01

    A bin for everything

Racks, shelves and floor spaces get barcoded addresses; the system suggests where each receipt should go.

  2. 02

    Waves, not orders

Orders are grouped into waves and lines sorted by aisle and bin, so a picker walks a single loop.

  3. 03

    Scan to confirm

Every pick and pack is scanned; a wrong SKU or quantity is stopped at the station, not by the customer.

  4. 04

    Count a little, every day

Cycle counts pick a few bins daily by value and movement; differences are recounted and explained.

All questions →
What is a warehouse management system (WMS)?

A warehouse management system (WMS) gives every carton an address. It tells staff which bin to put stock in, builds pick lists that walk the shortest route, checks every pick with a barcode scan and schedules small daily cycle counts, so stock stays right without closing for a full count.

What is the difference between a WMS and inventory software?

Inventory software knows how much stock you have; a WMS also knows exactly where it is — which bin — and directs put-away, picking and counting inside the warehouse.

Do we need special scanners?

No. Rugged Android scanners work best, but the app also runs on ordinary Android phones using the camera as the scanner.

Can it pick by batch and expiry (FEFO)?

Yes. With batch tracking switched on, picks follow first-expiry-first-out, which matters for FMCG, food and pharma.

Can a 3PL run it for several clients?

Yes. Stock, rules, billing and reports are kept separately for each client, with a portal where clients see their own stock.

How long does a WMS take to set up?

A first warehouse with bins, put-away, picking and counts usually goes live in 8–12 weeks, including labelling the racks.
