Influencer marketing has moved from an experimental tactic to a core growth channel. Audiences spend hours a day with creators they trust, and brands that work with those creators well get attention that ads struggle to buy. Here are the trends shaping how smart brands run creator campaigns — and what to do about each one.
1. Long-term partnerships beat one-off posts
A single sponsored video is easy to forget. A creator who features your product across several videos — or across several launches — builds familiarity and trust. Repeat partnerships also get easier and cheaper to run because the creator already understands the product. We have seen this first-hand: our Samsung Galaxy campaigns came back for launch after launch with the same creators.
What to do: plan creator relationships by quarter, not by post.
2. Micro and nano creators earn more trust
Creators with smaller, focused audiences often have closer relationships with their viewers. Their recommendations feel like advice from a friend, and their rates make it possible to work with many of them at once. We break down the economics in why micro-influencers outperform celebrities.
What to do: test a group of micro-creators before spending your whole budget on one big name.
3. Short-form video is the default format
YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels are where discovery happens. Short creator videos introduce a product; longer integrations and reviews help people decide.
What to do: brief creators for both — a short hook-driven piece and, where it fits, a longer review.
4. Regional and language creators unlock new audiences in India
India is not one market. Creators who speak to audiences in Hindi and other regional languages reach people that English-first campaigns miss, especially beyond the largest cities.
What to do: match the creator's language and region to the customers you want next.
5. Gaming and tech creators sell more than games
Gaming audiences are young, mobile-first and highly engaged — which is why phone, accessory and audio brands increasingly partner with gaming creators. Our campaigns for the Samsung Galaxy series and Epomaker keyboards are examples of products presented in a creator's own setup and style rather than as a scripted advert.
What to do: look beyond the obvious category creators; ask where your buyers actually spend their time.
6. Performance-based deals are becoming normal
Brands increasingly combine a fixed fee with performance elements: unique promo codes, affiliate links and tracked landing pages. It aligns incentives and makes results measurable.
What to do: give every creator a unique code or tracking link, even on awareness campaigns.
7. Creator content doubles as ad creative
The best-performing ads often look like creator content. With the right usage rights, a creator's video can run as a paid ad, appear on product pages or be cut into new variations.
What to do: agree usage rights — platforms and duration — in the contract, not after the video goes viral.
8. Disclosure is non-negotiable
Audiences and regulators expect transparency. In India, the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) requires influencer advertising to carry a clear, upfront disclosure label such as #ad or #sponsored; regulators such as the US Federal Trade Commission have similar rules.
What to do: build disclosure into every brief and check it before content goes live.
9. Measurement is growing up
Views are no longer enough. Brands want to know what each creator delivered in engagement, clicks, sign-ups and sales — and what to repeat.
What to do: decide your success metric before the campaign starts and report per creator.
10. AI helps with discovery — judgement still matters
AI tools can surface creators, summarise audience data and spot fake engagement faster than manual research. But fit — tone, values, how a creator talks to their audience — still needs human judgement.
A quick checklist for your next campaign
- One clear goal: awareness, installs, traffic or sales
- A mix of creator sizes, matched to your audience and language
- A brief that protects the creator's voice
- Tracking links or codes for every creator
- Usage rights and disclosure agreed in writing
- A report that compares creators, not just totals
